Good hypnotherapy is akin to someone you trust reading a relevant book of good ideas that is exclusive to you in a very pleasant relaxing way. My clients tell me that it also allows them to be comfortably self-aware of our discussion beforehand on REBT.
In the hypnotic state the person may feel tingliness in their finger ends and as blood pressure reduces, heaviness in shoulders, arms and legs known as limb catalepsy. Rapid eye movement (REM) as the person visualises, afterwards a time distortion where 30 minutes felt like 15. On the second session 30 minutes may seem like 5 minutes. From my view point the person’s skin colouration goes paler, their features go into repose and they sit very still (passivity of movement) but there is a lot of mental activity as the person digests my words and meanings.
